His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday opened the 13th edition of the Dubai Airshow. The event opened at its new permanent purpose-built home near Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central.
This year's Dubai Airshow will take place at Dubai World Central - a new home for a new era. The new venue at DWC features a purpose-built site for the Airshow, improved parking and catering facilities as well as a larger static park. Exhibitors, visitors and media from all over the world will be joining us at Dubai World Central this November for the Middle East's leading aerospace event - make sure you are part of it too.

RAK Airways plans flights to Calicut and Jeddah
RAS AL KHAIMAH // RAK Airways, the state-backed airline of Ras al Khaimah, will relaunch its scheduled passenger services on October 10, almost two years after it suspended operations amid the global downturn and focused instead on charter flights. Using two leased Boeing 737-400 aircraft, a rebranded RAK Airways will initially fly to Calicut in the Indian state of Kerala and to Jeddah.

On the 2nd December 2011, two weeks after the Dubai Airshow, the United Arab Emirates celebrates its 40th Anniversary. The signing of the UAE constitution took place on 2nd December 1971. This year the Dubai Airshow will join in the build up to these historic celebrations.
